Downsizing & Transitions
Moving to a smaller home often means letting go of things that hold a lot of memories. Christina helps you and your family make those decisions calmly, at a pace that feels right.
Whether you are an empty nester moving to a smaller home, helping a parent move closer to family or settling into senior living, downsizing asks you to make a lot of decisions. Many of those decisions involve furniture, dishes, photos and keepsakes tied to decades of family life.
We slow the process down and make it manageable. Christina listens first, respects the stories behind your things and never rushes you. Our goal is for you to arrive in your new space surrounded by the things that matter most.
We start with a free consultation, often with both the person moving and a family member. We talk about the timeline, the new home and any worries. Then we create a room-by-room plan.
We usually begin with lower-emotion spaces, like the garage, linen closets or a guest room, to build momentum. Keepsakes and photos come later, once decisions feel easier. For items that are hard to part with, we may suggest keeping a few special pieces, photographing others or passing them to family members who will treasure them.
If you are selling items or need an estate sale company, junk removal or a mover, we can help you plan the order of steps so each part goes smoothly.
Christina provides downsizing help in Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Leander and Manor. Many families are helping a parent move within Central Texas, and some are coordinating from out of town. We keep everyone updated so decisions do not all fall on one person.
Our clients trust us to be kind, patient and discreet. Christina is background checked and holds a 5.0 star rating on Thumbtack.
When adult children live out of town, downsizing a parent's home can feel overwhelming. We can be a steady, local presence while you coordinate from a distance, sharing progress and questions so you stay part of the decisions.
Our goal is for everyone to feel heard, and for the person moving to feel respected throughout.
We also help the new space feel like home. Favorite chairs, family photos and everyday items go in familiar places, so the first days after the move feel comfortable instead of strange.

Questions
Begin with a plan and a timeline, then start with lower-emotion spaces like the garage or linen closet. Save photos and keepsakes for later, once decision-making feels easier.
Involve them in every decision, go at their pace and focus on what will make the new space comfortable. A neutral organizer can make conversations easier for the whole family.
Offer it to family first, then consider selling, consigning or donating. We help you decide early, based on the new floor plan, so you do not move pieces that will not fit.
It depends on the size of the home, the timeline and how much needs to be sorted. Many downsizing projects take several sessions over a few weeks.
We focus on sorting, planning, packing and setup. We can help you coordinate the order of steps with movers, estate sale companies or junk removal services you choose.
