Moving day ends, but the work is just beginning. Most families unpack the essentials and then stall, with the rest of the boxes stacked in the garage or a spare room. It is easy to lose track of important things and hard to feel at home.

Our unpacking and move-in service takes that weight off your shoulders. We unpack room by room and put things away thoughtfully, so your new home is organized from the start rather than something to fix later.

What move-in unpacking includes

• Full unpack and box removal. Boxes emptied, broken down and cleared out of the way.
• Kitchen setup. Dishes, cookware, pantry and drawers arranged around how you cook.
• Closet and bathroom setup. Clothes hung and sorted, linens folded, toiletries in easy reach.
• Systems from day one. Zones and labels built in as we unpack, not added months later.
• Kids' rooms first, if you like. Getting children's rooms set up early helps everyone settle in.

How the unpacking process works

We start with a free consultation, ideally before your move. If Christina can see the new space or its floor plan ahead of time, she can plan where things will go and suggest what to pack together. If you have already moved in, that works too.

On unpacking day we usually start with the kitchen and bedrooms, since those make the biggest difference to daily life. We unpack category by category, ask you about preferences, and set things up with the family's routines in mind. As the boxes empty, we break them down and gather packing paper so the house opens up.

If you are unsure where something should go, we make a sensible choice and note it, so you can easily adjust later.

Relocating to Austin or moving across town

Central Texas welcomes a lot of new neighbors every year, and many of our unpacking clients are relocating for work or family. Christina helps families settle into homes in Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Leander and Manor, whether that is a new build in Leander or Manor or an established neighborhood in Austin.

Local tip: if your new home has a garage, try to keep it from becoming the box overflow room. It is much easier to unpack when boxes go straight to the room where they belong.

Tips before your unpacking day

A little prep helps unpacking go faster and smoother:

• Ask movers to place boxes in the rooms marked on the labels.
• Keep a clear path through each room so boxes can be reached.
• Set up beds first so everyone sleeps well the first night.
• Have a few basic tools, trash bags and a box cutter ready.
• Think about how you want to use each room, even if plans change later.

If you have not had time for any of this, that is okay too. We will work with whatever moving day left behind.

We also leave you with a short list of anything that still needs a decision, such as art to hang or furniture to rearrange, so nothing gets forgotten once the boxes are gone. Many clients say that list is what finally makes the new house feel finished.
